The good and bad news

Bad (okay not so bad) news first:

We are apparently having someone drive us back to our house after the wedding. Yep. We picked the WORST time for a wedding (and it's also my fault for not checking with hotels sooner), but there are a ton of conventions and tournaments going on and all the hotels are either booked or do not have any suites.

The only thing we could find open (that wasn't at a ghetto motel) was too far away and $200 a night for something not that great. We thought, "Yeah, $200 for spending maybe 8 hours SLEEPING in the hotel...not worth it."

After pouting and feeling sorry for ourselves for a while, we just decided that we will book something OOT for a future trip (maybe August?). Like a mini moon. It'll actually be better because we'll not be as stressed and tired from the wedding all day. Silver lining, baby!

The (really) good news:

We finished writing our vows last night--and we successfully ran through the first part of our choreographed first dance.

The vows went amazing. We started off by writing a letter to each other (in one of my organized bride moments I put together packets with suggestions for things to write about) and then we read them to each other. I actually teared up a little with his. It was so sweet. Mine is much more "funny" and less emotional. I asked if that bothered him, he said, "No, that's kind of how you are" and that it's perfect because our letters reflect our personalities. Funny, I'm the "dude" in the relationship.

Then we wrote the "Do you, Wendy, choose you, Steven..." parts. Those went pretty smoothly. We just brainstormed words that meant something to us or were important in our vows. Of course, we added something with humor at the end. Well, I did. But Steve laughed when I read them and agreed.

I can't wait to be sharing these in front of everyone! I know I'm going to mess up so bad. And I'm going to cry. Aaaah!

After vow writing, we were feeling ultra ambitious (and still not in the mood to clean the house so we decided to work on our first dance. I had choreographed the first part of it (up to the chorus) and we had to work through the kinks, but we got it down pretty smoothly and was able to get through the chorus part.

There was a situation with some spinning (I had to spin six times right close together and I kept getting dizzy and falling over) but we worked it out. Steve was actually VERY helpful and even called me on a couple steps I was doing wrong ("You're not going back all the way"). Oh, and he even INVENTED a step in the dance without my help. He's amazing! We had so much fun!!

Now, I just need to work out the second choreographed part with him and put it all together. We still have 22 days or so! Plenty of time.
