Tonight, we lost our videographer. His camera broke and it won't be repaired in time.
But I honestly didn't freak out. I figured it wasn't the end of the world.
I was resourceful, however, and got on my e-mail and found the addresses of other videographers I had been considering. Within minutes, one e-mailed me back and he is doing it for $400 with TWO cameras (the first guy just had one). I am sooo excited. Now we just need to track down the first guy to get our money back. He's been pretty straightforward with us, so I am not too concerned.
Aside from that, all the attendant's gifts are taken care of. I bought the kids candy and some water toys in their bags with their ringer bearer/flower girl/ junior groomsmen shirts.
I can't say what the bridesmaids got. I don't know if they will read this. But, it does contain booze. S is picking up the groomsmen gifts tomorrow (uh can we say last minute?)
Also tomorrow I am meeting with the house sitter. She was recommended by a friend and it's only costing me $50 to make sure my pups are taken care of. I worry about Mischka because she's a little insane. Trust me, it was weird having to write the sitter a note saying "Mischka is afraid of the back door...Mischka is afraid of the gate on her pen...Mischka is afraid of the beaded curtains leading into the bedroom...Mischka is afraid of loud noises..." I never considered Mischka a "high maintenance" dog, but it's appearing otherwise. She's just...scared of everything.
Tomorrow is the rehearsal dinner and literally cannot wait. My stomach is in knots and I'm still getting sick pretty easy (I have to watch what I eat). Tonight it was stir fry and pretzels and S got me to break into a bottle of wedding wine tonight (sssh!)

Weird thoughts
Okay, so I am officially grossed out by my ex boyfriend. Not the most recent ex, but the one before him. The "kid." Ew. I just sort of randomly thought about him today, and I absolutely could not even remember what I saw in him. I couldn't remember even how our relationship functioned on a level at which I thought was normal. So strange.
Guess that's a good thing I'm getting married to someone who is the complete opposite in...four days is it?
This week in unbelievably crazy. I went for my final fitting last night. Although my mom DID NOT show up (she forgot), it went well and Kim helped out a bunch with the lacing. Coralie showed her how to do it, so I supposed she's going to be my dress lacer on the wedding day.
Today I wrote up directions for our house sitter and began downloading music for getting ready. I figured the girls and the guys would want two separate playlists (mine is 80s, 90s, and recent music mixed in with love songs and songs from love movies). I told S to put together a playlist for me and I would download the songs for him. Instead, he told me to put together "whatever" because I know what he likes. Ugh. Do you want rock? Do you want new music? He was like, "Oh, 90's and 80's music" or like "songs that modern bands have covered...but the old songs...ya know what I mean?" No, I don't know what you mean. I was TRYING to do something nice and now it turned into a huge task.
I think I'll end up just mixing him some 90's rock music and modern hip hop music that is on my playlist. I hope that'll be okay.
The festivities continue tonight with the finishing of the water bottle labels and the retouching of my roots (Grr i HATE doing this!) There literally aren't enough hours in the day for me right now.

Update on Wedding Day Weather!
Depends on the site, but not too shabby. I hope it goes with all sun (although I know for photographs clouds are better!!)

It's so close!
Five days. I never thought I would live to see this time. It's going to be over so fast! I just can't believe it. I'll have to get a new hobby.
Tonight, I'm going for my final dress fitting. I am not sure when my dress is going to be picked up or who will be bringing it. That would be a good detail to figure out.

A rather awkward night
Tonight, a bunch of S's family came to town. It was...quite a culture shock (to put it mildly). They speak 80/20 Spanish to English, so even when I recognized words, I couldn't put together sentences. Then they started playing a DVD of a family member's open casket funeral.
I was raised very sensitized to death. I was never brought to a funeral. My mom tried to keep me from all that stuff. So, to see a dead body, it just...I don't like it. I kind of shut off at that point (not that I had been interacting anyway, I had been working on the children's activity books) and played on my iPhone--and, I'm sure, looked very uncomfortable.
I hoped they didn't think I was being rude, but, what was I supposed to say, "Wow, uh, that's a nice corpse!" or "Wow! I didn't know you could peer into a casket from that angle!" I just...I felt weird.
But how can I communicate with them? I don't know what they are saying half the time and then they say stuff like the fact that S's grandma (who is very elderly) said, when she came for his brother's wedding 10 years ago, that S had to find a girlfriend in Texas because she wasn't going to make it back up to Washington again. And then they actually expanded on that thought, "I guess he SHOULD have done that so she COULD have been there." I'm sure they weren't serious, but that sort of hurt my feelings. Of course, I am 9 days away from being a bride, so I'm just a teensy bit sensitive. (just a bit!)
Oh well, I told him I would go back tomorrow night and make a second go at it. I don't know what to do. If anyone has any idea of games or get-to-know-you activities that would work for a Spanish and English family, let me know by emailing me at photodiva85@yahoo.com. I have the strangest feeling the families are going to segregate like a backyard production of West Side Story. His family can be the Puerto Ricans. Actually, his little sis in a few years would make a beautiful Maria...and I digress.

Oops!
Well, apparently my sister did not get us the waffle iron. She got us a toaster, it just hasn't arrived yet.
After some investigating, the waffle iron had a label that said it was from my cousins in Seattle. Good thing I asked her about it! Or else someone wouldn't be getting a Thank You.

SOO EXCITED!
Our first presents arrived today! Michael (our GM and neighbor) noticed them on the front doorstep (we use the back door so I hadn't seen them). Here is our first present adventure in pictures!!!

And all of this activity was brought to you by my WONDERFUL sis and bro in law!
THANKYOU! THANKYOU! THANKYOU!

Wedding-related stupidity?
So, twice this week I've sent e-mails at work to the wrong people.
The first one I attempted to send my former editor a message and it ended up going to the new editor.
The second time was a little more embarrassing. I sent a half-finished list of interview questions (which I thought I had been e-mailing to my own account so I could print them) to the newspaper i used to work at. I sent them a second e-mail after I realized what I had done saying, "Unless you care about low water pressure and commercial structure fires in Prosser, please disregard my last message."
I really need to watch that. One of these days it's going to be something embarrassing...or worse. Not that I send a lot of embarrassing messages...when I'm sober. Haha.
